American Beauties by Greg Hildebrandt
The American Beauties retro style pinup series was created in 1999 by American artist and Illustrator Greg Hildebrandt. Greg created the American Beauties pinup series in the hope that it will inspire and transform. With each painting (well over 100 paintings) Greg elicits the dreams and fantasies of the viewer in compelling new ways which are sure to delight the viewer.
Hildebrandt was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1939. Along with his identical twin brother, Tim, Greg became internationally recognized for their depiction of the JRR Tolkien books the Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy in a series of calendars published by Ballentine Books. Immediately following the success of the “Rings” calendars they created one of the most iconic and recognizable movie posters of all time; Star Wars.
Greg continues pursuing his passion of art to this day and will be recognized in history as one of the most prolific commercial artists of this age. In his long and illustrious career Greg has won numerous awards: including the Gold Medal from the Society of Illustrators.
